I’ve been struggling for a while now trying to find the right ways to portray a vigilant role and express myself regarding this sensitive matter. The urge to help, teach and change people through music is now more unyielding than ever.
Together Lydia Lyon and I have created ‘Wake You Up’. Through a story of heartbreak and one woman’s plight to wake her partner up to the many sides of her that he refuses to see, ‘Wake You Up’ carries the message of how difficult it really is for two seemingly unlike individuals to see eye-to-eye, without the willingness of both souls. Although the interpretation of this story can be understood in many ways, we feel this song delivers a strong message of understanding and solidarity.
Through the release of this acoustic interpretation of this song, we want to serve the greater good and help make this world a better place.
All income gained through streams and purchases will be donated to Act Blue Bail, Mutual Aid and Racial Justice Organization Funds.
